You will be surprised to learn that only 1/10th of 1 percent of the total diamonds of this mine is Pink.
The largest known Pink diamond found till date is called Darya-I-Noor, which means “Sea of Light”. This particular diamond weighs up to 182 carats and has an antique table cut with a shade of pale pink. The Darya-I-Noor diamond belongs to the Royal family of Iran. It needs to be mentioned that this diamond was mined in India at the Paritala-Kollur mine and it dates back to 1642

- The fact that these diamonds are found only in a handful of mines and constitute a very small percentage of the total volume of diamonds that are mined globally, makes them very rare and quite expensive.
